New Diagnosis Resources

Receiving the unexpected news that your child has Type 1 Diabetes is one of the scariest things that a family can go through. Sending your camper to overnight camp for an extended period away from home, for the first time after a recent diagnosis, can be equally as scary. However, a positive camp experience during the first year of diagnosis is essential and provides a framework for support for both the camper and family that will carry through for the rest of their lives.

Camp Ho Mita Koda is proud to sponsor first-time campers who have had a T1D diagnosis within 12 months of the start of the camp with a 50% credit toward the camp fee.

Those diagnosed within 6 months of the start of camp get a FREE WEEK OF CAMP, less the $100 non-refundable deposit.

We believe in the power of camp and have seen the incredible benefits that a one-week experience has on the mental health of a newly diagnosed camper within the first critical year.

The new diagnosis discount could not be possible without the ongoing support of the by the Lions and Masons clubs.
