COVID-19 Cancellation & Refund Policy

The canceling of program has an impact on Camp Ho Mita Koda’s ability to change lives today and into the future. Therefore, we are very cautious and deliberate about decision-making regarding cancellation of programs and events. We don’t want to rush into any decisions too early regarding summer camp, guest groups or retreats before weighing the options and monitoring the development of the situation as it unfolds. Even so, the safety and health of our guests is paramount.

We understand that COVID-19 is affecting every family differently and that that these unprecedented times call for unprecedented actions and CHMK will always make it right with our families. We have revised our cancellation policy to give you more flexibility in the instance that a summer camp program is cancelled. Please review the options offered to find the best fit to your situation:

  • Donate a portion or the full amount of your current payment to help support CHMK Operations during this hard time. While our hope is that camp occurs uninterrupted, we still do incur tremendous monthly expense if the program is cancelled. This does not include the significant amount of money that has already been spent in getting ready for the camp season.
  • Defer your current payment to the 2021 season. You have the ability to leave your current payments, untouched, in your account as a credit to be utilized for any program in the 2021 season. Think about how much further ahead you will be for 2021 when it comes time to register! This is our recommended option.
  • Transfer your current payment toward an alternative program this year. We will give you 100% credit to be used toward any CHMK program occurring this year including our Alumni Reunion, Family Fall Fest, Teen Weekend, Family Camp, etc. This also includes the purchase of CHMK trading post items.
  • Cancel your registration(s) for this summer. You will receive a 100% refund of all fees paid for the registered program.

If you do require a refund, please understand that we are a year-round, independent small business that relies on program revenue and donations to remain in operation. We incur great expenses throughout all four seasons. We have a year-round staff to develop curriculum, upkeep the facility, maintain our operations, develop professionally, etc. Additionally, we have monthly grounds and insurance obligations, commit to annual memberships to advocacy groups that align with our values, and are always searching for the best seasonal talent to instruct your kids in the summer.

At CHMK, we are committed to supporting each individual camper and parent through transparent and excellent customer service.  If you have questions or concerns about processing a cancelation, please reach out to leadership team at info@camphomitakoda.org.
