Hello everyone! We are so close to camp opening! It’s pretty exciting to think that the next time I’ll be writing one of these, camp will open and staff will be doing all of the required training to help make our season a success. Speaking of staff, I wanted to give a quick shout out to the following members as we took on the SPARTAN RACE this past weekend! We created “Team CHMK” (for obvious reasons) to help strengthen cohesion among the staff and break in June in a new and exciting way. Team CHMK is comprised of Josh Wynn, Brady Pemberton, Maryanne Kuzmer, Nick Kuzmer, and myself. Our race was on June 3rd and it went extremely well! Be on the look out for some photos!
On the topic of Spartan races though, I wanted to talk about another fun activity for the family! If anyone has been doing any of the recent JDRF events, then there’s a chance we may have crossed paths at Functions of Life in Broadview Heights where JDRF put on a “Nina Warrior” Day for the kids. This awesome facility features a gym on one side and a ninja course on the other! The course includes obstacles such as a climbing wall, monkey bars, climbing rope, swinging rings, and plenty of tires to jump on. I have loved watching the kids run around and experience a fun and effective way to exercise.
With school ending soon and summer upon us, many parents will be looking for a place to take their kids so they can expend some energy. I highly suggest you check out some of the local “ninja course” -esque places below! These locations allow for kids (and adults!) to try some awesome obstacles out, build confidence, and get a fun workout in. To be totally honest, these places are so much fun that it doesn’t even feel like a workout at times! You’ll get to work on arms, legs, core, balance, and become ninja in the process!
