CAMP TOURS FOR FUTURE CAMPERS
Are you considering overnight camp for the first time? At Camp Ho Mita Koda, we understand how big of a decision it is to spend a week or two away from home (mostly for the parents!), and we would love to help relieve any worries you or your child might have by seeing the camp, touring our facilities, and asking our staff questions in person to get a better feel for the program.
It is true that overnight camp is an investment for your child and an emotional decision, so it’s important to do your research. There is a reason that Camp Ho Mita Koda is the oldest and longest operating camp in the country for children with diabetes, we know how to do it right! Camp Ho Mita Koda is about the lasting impact that comes when all kids—whatever their ability or confidence level—learn to face new challenges, push beyond their comfort zones and make sound, independent decisions. All tours, scheduled or not, happen at our main campus in Newbury, OH.
WHAT HAPPENS ON A TOUR
Campers and their parents will remain together throughout the duration of the tour. Our staff will walk you through all of our on-site facilities including the cabins, dining halls, outside recreation areas, and more. At the end of the tour is a question and answer session where you will meet the Director and can ask all of the questions you might have, no matter how big or small. While you won’t participate in any camp activities during the tour, our goal is to help you gain a thorough understanding of our program.
