Camp Ho Mita Koda is located within 1 hour from Cleveland, 2 hours from Akron, and 3 hours from Columbus, and is easily accessible from I80. Our nearest airports are Cleveland Hopkins (CLE), and Akron- Canton Airport (CAK).
Camp Ho Mita Koda is situated on 72 acres of pine and oak forests overlooking pristine Founder’s Lake, with top-notch facilities, from cabins to the waterfront. Our rustic feel harkens campers back to our roots even as the modern world wraps around us allowing kids be themselves without too much technological interference.
At the center of it all is the Great Hall – our Dining Hall and office, filled with plaques representing each year of cabins and campers, since 1929. Just outside are picnic tables, porch, a basketball court, activity center, and of course our big bell – rung several times a day to announce activities and meals.
Our rustic but clean cabins are equipped with electricity, comfortable bunks, and storage cubbies for up to 100 campers plus staff. Cabins are situated within our Bear Pond Circle, with a central bathhouse separating the boys and girls side of camp.
Our Waterfront area sits inside a quiet cove, with a dock to separate our boating and fishing areas. Campers love jumping off the docks, on a hot day! In the boathouse, they’ll find toys and games to use in the water or on the sand, along with lifejackets and paddles for adventures in canoes, kayaks, and more!
Sports Field & Tennis Courts
Our large field is perfect for team sports, and includes a backstop for a game of kickball or baseball. Next door are our two clay tennis courts, where campers can imagine themselves winning the French Open.
On our climbing tower, low elements, high ropes course and zip line that are certified to ACCT standards annually, campers can challenge themselves in a secure environment. For those who prefer to stay on the ground, our archery range lies in a clearing just beyond.
A six horse stable and riding ring are just the spot for campers to improve their equestrian skills. More advanced riders can step out of the ring into 30 acres of forest, crisscrossed with trails wide enough for riding.
Each spring, thousands of tadpoles hatch in our nature pond, where campers can watch them transform into frogs as the summer continues. Just a few steps away is our Nature Center, filled with everything campers need for learning about the natural world.
Take aim at a variety of moving and stationary targets at our range in the woods. Campers will have the opportunity to use Tippman Markers to test their skill and leave their mark!
Do you have what it takes to hit a bullseye from 5, 10, or even 20 yards away? Our state of the art archery range allows the opportunity to learn about proper shooting technique and safety.
Nestled in the heart of camp is our Olympic sized swimming pool. Campers can cool off from a hot day of camp splashing around, taking lessons, or even learning lifesaving skills with our aquatics staff!
Arts & Crafts Hall
Painting, drawing, ceramics, pottery and so much more. The CHMK crafts hall is your one-stop shop for all things creative.
This state of the art multi-purpose meeting space serves as home to our camp radio station in the summer.
A central meeting point at camp, our large fire pit plays host to our opening and closing ceremonies, campfire cooking classes, songs, games, skits, and so much more.
Circling the camp property, you will find campsites, firepits, bridges, shelters, mountain biking trails and an endless forest for exploration.
