Camp Ho Mita Koda campers, families, and alumni have traditionally supported the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland's largest fundraising event, Verizon Wireless Swim for Diabetes. Since Camp is a subsidiary of DAGC, money raised from the event directly benefits the camp too!
Camp Ho Mita Koda campers who participate in the 2008 Verizon Wireless SWIM FOR DIABETES have a special opportunity to receive a discount on their camp fee this summer! To qualify, campers must be registered for a 2008 Camp Ho Mita Koda residence camp session by April 4, 2008 and turn in all collected pledges by April 22 (postmarked by April 21, 2008). The camp fee discount is equal to 1/4 of the Swim donations raised, not to exceed $100. For example, if your camper collects $200, a deduction of $50 will be made from the total camp fee.
Campers can participate at any one of 73 pools during the 23rd Annual Verizon Wireless SWIM FOR DIABETES throughout Northeast Ohio on April 4, 5, and 6, 2008, including the “Camp Pool.” Make plans to swim with your camp friends or come meet new campers at the 2008 Camp Swim on Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6, 2008 from 12-3pm at the Solon High School pool. Money raised at the "Camp Pool" will directly benefit Camp Ho Mita Koda.
Participation in the Swim is easy! All ages and abilities may swim laps, walk in the water, or just stay dry and fundraise to benefit the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland and Camp Ho Mita Koda while competing for some great prizes, including…
Please note that cash awards will not be made in lieu of a camp fee reduction. Campers with remaining fee balances are eligible for discounts which, in total with our regular campership program, can only match up to 100% of the camp fee. For example, a camper already receiving a campership that pays all but $50 of his fee would not get more than the remaining fee balance. Camper’s whose camp fee balance has already been paid in full are also eligible to receive a discount on their camp fee. A refund equal to 1/4 of the Swim donations raised, not to exceed $100 will be issued.
