Mini Camp

Program Description: Mini Camp is for children ages 4-8 with diabetes. Children attend with their parent(s) or guardian(s). No siblings please. Mini Camp is a great way to get acquainted with Camp Ho Mita Koda. Mini Camp provides opportunities to meet camp staff, tour the camp, and experience some of the typical activities offered at camp during an overnight session.

Campers and their parent(s) participate together in a variety of activities, including games, a scavenger hunt, campfire with songs, and free swim. Each Mini Camper receives a free Camp Ho Mita Koda t-shirt and a group photo.

Location: Camp Ho Mita Koda, 14040 Auburn Rd, Newbury, Ohio 44065 (Geauga County).

Date: Mini Camp will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008

Arrival Time: 10:00 AM

Departure Time: 4:00 PM

What to wear: Comfortable, casual clothes & shoes (shorts, tennis shoes, t-shirts). Camp will provide a Camp Ho Mita Koda t-shirt to each Mini Camper.

What to bring: Sweatshirt or light jacket, bathing suit (pool will be open in the afternoon for parents and Mini Campers), towel, sunscreen, poolside footwear, & diabetes supplies (put in a bag with name and we will store in air conditioned dispensary). While our staff is available for assistance with diabetes issues, parents are primarily responsible for diabetes management and supervision of children during this activity.

Meals & Snacks: Snacks and Lunch are provided by Camp. If your child will require special accommodations, please notify the Camp Dietician, Matt Sebastian (216-591-0800) at least one week in advance.

Cost: The cost for Mini Camp is $20 per camper and $20 per parent/guardian.
