Grand Council of Royal & Select Masons Support Camp Ho Mita Koda
For many years, Camp Ho Mita Koda has been fortunate to be a recipient of the Grand Benevolent Fund raised by the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masons of Ohio. This year, the Masons donated $18,000 to Camp Ho Mita Koda to provide camperships (scholarships) to children who would otherwise not be able to attend camp.
The Masons are the oldest and largest fraternal organization in history with hundreds of different councils all over the world. They are deeply focused on individual development and helping people in need in order to make the world a better place. They contribute over two million dollars a day to charitable causes and philanthropies all over the country.
There are 98 Masonic Councils in Ohio with more than 10,000 active members. Since 1977, the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masons have had an interest in diabetes. As this interest grew, they were slowly able to develop a fund to raise money for summer camps for children with type 1 diabetes. In 1996, six summer camps were selected to be recipients of this fund. Money raised for this fund is made possible through donations through public and commercial enterprises and through volunteer work done by the Masons. < class="content"> Our special thanks to the members of the Royal and Select Masons of the State of Ohio for their extraordinary and long term support of Camp Ho Mita Koda and other diabetes camps in Ohio. This year’s gift of $18,000 will support the campership program in order to give any child with diabetes the chance to attend Camp Ho Mita Koda. Thank you Grand Council of Royal and Select Masons of Ohio for all you do to bring awareness about diabetes and for your wonderful support of Camp Ho Mita Koda.
