Type 1 Residence Camp

Campership/Financial Assistance

Camperships are supported by the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland, by other organizations, and individual donors. No child should miss the opportunity to attend camp because of an inability to pay the camp fee. Camperships are processed within two weeks of receipt. Notification of the campership amount is sent by mail.

To process your application for a campership, the following information must be completed:

  1. Register your child for a residence camp session. Camperships cannot be processed unless a child is registered for a camp session.
  2. Complete the Financial Assistance/Campership application in its entirety and submit it with a copy of your 2007 W-2 form.
  3. Please mail completed forms and $25 registration fee to Camp Ho Mita Koda, 3601 S. Green Rd. Suite 100, Cleveland, OH 44122.
  4. Applications for Financial Assistance/ Campership must be received by June 1, 2008.

One Touch Laugh & Learn Sweepstakes to Award Scholarships for Summer Camp Experiences to Children with Diabetes

LifeScan, a Johnson & Johnson company and the maker of OneTouch® Blood Glucose Meters for people with diabetes, has announced an online sweepstakes that will offer an opportunity for kids with diabetes to attend a diabetes camp for free this summer. The OneTouch® Laugh & Learn Sweepstakes, which runs through May 20, is available at DiabetesAndKids.org and offers 30 Grand-Prize winners a weeklong stay at a diabetes camp of their choice, selected from a list of camps certified by the Diabetes Education and Camping Association. An additional 1,000 second-prize winners will be given a OneTouch® UltraMini™ Blood Glucose Meter in their choice of color at no charge.
