Mini Camp

Program Description: For children ages 4-8 with type 1 diabetes and their parents/guardians, Mini Camp provides an introduction to the residence camp program at Ho Mita Koda. Children and parents will participate in favorite camp activities. A special parents-only program about the nutritional, medical, and recreational aspects of camp will also be offered. .

Location: Camp Ho Mita Koda, 14040 Auburn Rd, Newbury, Ohio 44065 (Geauga County).

Date: Saturday, June 25, 2011

Arrival Time: 10:00 AM

Departure Time: 4:00 PM

What to wear: Comfortable, casual clothes & shoes (shorts, tennis shoes, t-shirts). Camp will provide a Camp Ho Mita Koda t-shirt to each Mini Camper.

What to bring: Sweatshirt or light jacket, bathing suit (pool will be open in the afternoon for parents and Mini Campers), towel, sunscreen, poolside footwear, & diabetes supplies (put in a bag with name and we will store in air conditioned dispensary). While our staff is available for assistance with diabetes issues, parents are primarily responsible for diabetes management and supervision of children during this program.

Meals & Snacks: Snacks and Lunch are provided by Camp. If your child will require special accommodations, please notify the Camp Dietitian at (216) 591-0800 at least one week in advance.

Cost: $20 per camper and $20 per parent/guardian.
